I was thinking about this Ford Racing oil filter adapter instead of a filter relocation kit. What direction does it end up pointing in? Would I be able to use a bigger filter than the standard fl400s?

I don't know anything about it. But if the place you saw it from has technical assistance, they may be better able to help you. I would think that it would mount up in the stock position just guessing at it.
