Basic info about x-plan
I just recently found out that I qualify for the x-plan, because of the company I work for (IBM). I have heard very few details about the x-plan, so I was hoping someone might be able to give me some basic info about it. How much should I expect to save (off the sticker price) using the x-plan (thinking about a new, loaded SuperCrew)? If you purchase a vehicle at a low price using the x-plan, do you still qualify for other incentives that Ford has going on right now, such as rebates and/or low financing? Can the x-plan be used to purchase SVT vehicles, specifically the Lightning or Cobra? Can family members and/or friends use my x-plan as well? Are you limited to the number of vehicles you can purchase using the x-plan?
I guess that's enough questions for now. I asked some of these same questions to a salesman at a local Ford dealership last night and his answers seemed a little fishy, so I thought I'd ask them here as well with the hope that someone has some experience using the x-plan. Thanks!

There are a zillion threads on X Plan on this site, and a few minutes reading will get you all the info you want.
As far as SVT vehicles go, it's up to the individual dealer whether they go X Plan on them or not. I found that all but one of the SVT dealers in MN would do X Plan, and I bought my Lightning in May that way. Basically X Plan is like 4% over "A" Plan pricing, which is based on dealer invoice. For example, my Lightning listed at $32,475 (or close anyway); with the X Plan, it was 29,031, including destination charges. So, it's a locked in figure if you know the calculation...at least you'll come close to the correct figure. But, do some searching here and you'll get all the info you need.
Also, as someone who works in Rochester, I cannot recommend Rochester Ford. They are a "No Haggle" dealership and to me that means, "No Deal!" They can't sell SVT anyway, if that's what you decide you want. I would check out Zumbrota Ford or Milo Peterson in Kenyon, first.

Can only buy 2 vehicles in a calendar year, excludes F-450 and up. I work for Michelin Tire and get 4% above invoice. You need to watch out for this also, I just bought a 02 F-250 4X4 CC PSD and actually haggled with the dealership and got a better price without using the X-plan
I was looking at a 2002 F-150 the other day with a sticker price of $32,930. The invoice price was $28,872, the x-plan price was $28,989.20.
I can buy it without the x-plan for $100 over invoice, ($28,972).
By the way, I don't qualify for the x-plan.
