x-plan
The use of X-plan is some times over rated. If you shop a strong sales market like the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, the competition among dealer is so strong that it can result in the purchase of a new truck at better than X-Plan prices. Under the new X-Plan guidelines, X-Plan = A-Plan + 4% + $150. This is equal to about invoice. Some dealers are willing to dip into their holdback to sell trucks. I purchased my 02 F-250 4x4 crew for $2,400 behind invoice, I picked up an ad unit @0%. However keep in mind that if you have a trade-in, they are going to hold back a few dollars on the trade, to make a few dollars on the sale.
I justed purchase a pretty Bright Red F-150 FX4 on the x-plan. I work for a company that is a vendor to Ford (we make zinc coated steel). The Truck listed for over $32,000 and I got $3,700 off for the x-plan, $2500 off for a Rebate, another $750 off for a x-plan rebate, and $700 off the FX4 package. The plus was the dealer given ( I know I payed for it) a Weber gas grill with any purchase during June. When to 3 different dealers to get the best trade-in. Finally got $1000 over Kelly Blue book at the last dealer.
So I ended up only paying 23,220 for my new ride.
