Buying on Ebay
Buying on Ebay
Anyone here ever buy a vehicle on EBAY? I've been looking for a very specific Ford truck and can't seem to locate anything around here but have seen several on EBAY. Would be interested in hearing about your experience and what you tink of the idea. Just curious.............

Just bought a Camry on e-bay. Everything looked fine, sounded good , etc. until I got the car & title. It had been a total loss & repaired By the seller & didn't disclose it. Can't register it till inspected by Highway Patrol & then will get a salvage title. The seller knew exactly what he was doing as in some states the title will get through as a clear title as in this case. I won't do it again & would recommend the same. By the way, what are you looking for? Maybe I can help.
I would avoid such an important and expensive purchase on eBay. It just gets too complicated if there is a problem. Regardless of the implied warranty or auction terms, if there is a problem you may have a lot of problems resolving it.
I've seen a lot of satisfied eBayer's purchase cars with positive results and get a fair deal but I've also seen people purchase cars that they never would have considered if they'd seen it in person.
Another thing about eBay is that many of the cars are there for just that reason; that they could never be sold to a buyer who has seen the vehicle.
If you do buy a car on eBay try to stay within a few hours driving distance of the seller as if you need to file a law suit it can only legally be filed in the seller's home county.
You could also look into an escrow service. They will withhold the money in an account until you receive the car and find it acceptible.
