2004 XLT F150 SuperCrew

A local guy is selling his F150 2WD SuperCrew for 10,500. Its a 4.6 with 84k miles. Has cloth, towing package, running boards, spray in bed liner and it dark grey with tan two tone.

The tires are bald(thread showing) and both side mirror's glass are cracked to heck and back. The interior looks like someone was murdered in there(dirty and stains), but looks like it could be cleaned. No tears.

The windshield has a crack, a couple dings and the plastic around the tag is punched out on one side.

I'm thinking with the market it like it is, this is a tad high but he thinks he is going to get his asking price for it.

He says he changed the oil every 8k and the brakes recently. I felt a little give in the brake pedal, like air in the lines once.

I see the KBB value, but edmunds has this truck so much lower. Is Edmunds TMV value that bad off or is KBB not realistic with market/economy?

I don't need a daily driver, but I do need to pull trailer haul stuff around parents farm. Truck seemed ok, but definitely have to replace tires on the way home if I buy it.

Any suggestion or things to check?

i would pass. I bet he took care of the engine the same way he took care of the rest of the truck, pretty poorly. You can find something for a little more with none of the problems listed with this truck.

That is a little high. That is too long between oil changes too, unless it was synthetic, which I doubt.

A SuperCrew with a 4.6 is not exactly a good towing vehicle. You can do a lot better for less money.
