Question Discounts

I ordered a 2001 F-150 Lariat and it came in last week. I am planning on picking it up tomorrow. I went and kicked the tires on it on Sunday, No salesman around on Sundays in Wisconsin, and found they put a door ding on the drivers door edge. They took some paint off and a small dent. I am pissed off. I got a great deal on the truck, $100 over invoice, but it is still almost a $30,000 investment. I don't want them to fix it though either. The only accepteble fix would be to replace the entire door panel. I hate having body work done in the fear that they will srew something else up in the door. Once you have replaced something it is never the same. I would rather have a bottle of touch up paint and at least $500 off. Has anybody ever come across anything like this? Any info would help.

Just wondering if you're dealing with Gordie Bouche??

Beloit Ford down the highway from you just gave me a good deal on 2000 Expy since the 99 listed below was destroyed in that tornado thing they had in Janesville on Aug 5th. You probably heard about it being in Madison.

As far as your problem--refuse delivery.

Good luck--Bob

I am working with Kayser Ford on the Beltline. My salesman called me back after looking at the door and offered me a $100 discount. I had only informed him that I wanted a discount and to make me an offer. I thought it was a slap in the face. I told him $500 or you order me a knew one. The dent is so small you can't even really see it, but the missing paint is what got me so hot. The sales manager is going to be calling me back to discuss it. Sorry to here about the bad luck with that wicked storm.

If you're not happy, refuse it. You will always look at the problem everytime you take it out. Just get you're money back and walk away. You don't have to buy anything. Believe me, you will find another, at the same price or better.

They are going to fix the dent and also give me $100 and free oil changes for a year. If the dent is not fixed to my satisfaction I will refuse delivery though. I go in on Thursday to look it over and maybe take delivery.

I guess I'd take it and run. That's better than the first time a shopping cart hits it. I know Wal-Mart won't give you free oil changes for a year

Well they didn't fix the dent. They used a little touch up paint and that was it. They said they would have to repaint most of the door and blend into the rear door to fix it. I told them I don't want a truck that has already been to the body shop, that's why I wanted to buy a new one. I took my money and will go somewhere else.
