Real Value Drop
Real Value Drop
In January, 2008 I purchased my 2007 Screw for $17K. It had under 19K miles on it and was a previous rental (car rental agency, NOT truck rental). It was about $2K cheaper than others on the lot because it was Gold in color. Apparently, Gold is not very popular.
The same dealer has several more on the lot right now. All are comparably equipped to mine. Most have mileage in the 25K to 30K range. In other words, they are now a model year older (2009 models are out) and have higher miles and less Warranty (Ford is 36 months/36K miles).
The asking price is now $13K. This is a price drop of $4K in the last 8 months.
www.reynolds1915.com is the dealer website. West Covina is about 35 miles East of Los Angeles, CA. It is off of the Interstate 10 Freeway and Citrus Avenue Exit.
Personally, I am very pleased with the truck. Several family members have purchased cars that were prior rentals from the same dealer (this is kind of their specialty). All have been good buys.
Good luck.

Not trying to be nitpicky, but the 2009 F-150's are not out yet.
Excellent buy, if a 4.6 has enough guts for you, a SuperCrew is a pretty heavy truck. You certainly won't have the sticking spark plug issues that the 5.4 has down the road.

New models normally hit around September. If not here yet, they will be soon. At any rate, this is the time you have to admit the '07 is 2 model years old and adjust the price accordingly.
This is my 2nd 4.6L. I am not dissappointed in the power at all. It pulls the truck and my small trailer very well. FTR, I have owned a GMC Dually with a 454. I know how it feels to have that 'Big Block' on tap.
I do think $13K is a steal. I only wish I had seen it coming and waited for the price drop. I thought $17K was the time to jump in. Luckily, I feel I got a good price for my 1998. If I had waited until now to buy the new truck, I probably would not have sold the '98 for as much.
Hopefully, someone else will benefit from the lesson I learned.
