X Plan Pricing

I recently changed jobs about two months ago. I went to work for a company that is owned by a large pipeline company. I was searching the company intranet today and discovered that I can get the X-Plan pricing through the parent company. I went to the Ford Partners X Plan website and entered the code. I would get a small percentage off the invoice price plus whatever rebates and incentives that Ford is currently offering. No one in HR told me about it when I hired on. So I decided to research the intranet site just to see if they would have it since the parent company makes a lot of fleet purchases for pipeline trucks.

I bought my truck on the X-plan, it wasn't really much cheaper than the Family Plan pricing. Maybe $250 cheaper, but it did help me qualify for an extra $500 rebate, so it saved me about $750.

I used the XPlan to purchase my Truck. Salesman were fine with x-plan, showed me the invoice with the x-plan $ and all was correct.
The Dealer Finance and back office group was not as current on the x-plan fees and such. They were a bit angry when I sent the Salesman back with Ford printouts stating administrative fees are NOT to be charged to x-plan customers. They were very upset and sent it back saying it was correct, the Ford worksheets and info were great tools to have with me. I sat with the Truck Sales Manager and he read them and agreed with the corrections I was seeking. They added fees for destinantion charge and admin fees. I returned the next day and the fees were removed. Magic another $800 total saved. DO not be rushed when you sign the final papers look them over carefully.

I forgot about the X-Plan excluding you from all of the nickel and dime fees a dealer tries to stick you with. $100 for a notary fee, $60 to file for your license, etc. All that stuff adds up and IMO is another way for a dealer to make money even though they may be selling a vehicle under invoice. Ford reimburshes the dealer for the X-Plan difference as well as the dealers are given a hold-back by Ford on each vehicle to help the dealer finance a vehicle until they sell it. The holdback is the scared cow to dealers and is around $1100 or so on a new pickup. I do not see the Family Plan returning this summer. Instead Ford is using rebates, 0 percent financing and a debit card to buy gas on.
