I have a f150 2001 v6 4.2 ext cab, xl with a few mods that include a supercharger. I really want a lightning, probably a 00' or 01 since I can't afford a new one. I still owe about 3000 on my old 50. After I pay it off do you think I should use it as a trade in or sell it to a private party? How much is a good price for a lightning. There was one at the dealership (00') for 25,000 and I found a 01 on ebay that was only 18,000 (and i dont think it had a reserve). But I usually see 01s for about 29,000.

Be careful if you buy one used. Right now here in Stillwater Oklahoma a guy has a 00 that hes asking 23K for, but only has 7,500 miles on it. You might even check around your area to see if any of the 03's are still on the lot, cause someone told me they were going cheap since the 04's are in. I would highly recommend though getting one that is 01 or up, and be looking to pay around 25K (depending on milage).
