forddirect.com
Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster. Been looking at 03 or 04 supercrew and have pretty much decided on the 03 as rebates/incentives are too good to pass up.
My question is I built the truck w/options I wanted at Forddirect.com. Then found one the way I wanted at a dealer here and requested to be contacted about it. It shows msrp and x-plan pricing. I sent a request to the dealer to 'reserve' it.
Does using ford direct enable me to use x-plan price or am i still gonna have to do the dealer dance and haggle?
I do not have a pin # and don't believe I can get one.
Thanks for the help.

Unfortunatly you won't get the X- plan pricing without a pin #, so it looks as if your going to have to do the latter. Still you should be able to get close to the X- plan pricing since they're trying to unload the '03's. Good Luck!
Thanks Tailgater,
I figured that was the case, just trying to avoid the stealing game, especially since i have a trade.
I guess I am pretty picky about the truck, options/colors I want. Before driving all over the place I was trying to get a dealer to quote one for me with all my options.
Most of the dealers respond to my e-mail with the line "yeah we got plenty of those, come in for a test drive". The 2 dealers I have visted so far didn't have the color/option combos I wanted.
When I found one thru ford direct, i can't get the sales guy to give a price without driving out there. If a dealer were to quote invoice or $100 over (not incl rebates) for what i want, i'd be on the way.
Seems to me the internet sales game is as bad if not worse than the walk in and waste an evening way.
At this point I think I'll wait and order a 2004 in a few months the way i want it.
Looking forward to having a Ford again....
Thanks,

Thanks,
I just bought essentially the same truck in Austin area: 03 supercrew, xlt, power drivers seat , cd and cassette. With rebates and dealer disc got it for 21,6 before tt and l; after ttand l about 23, 2. if all the stuff he showed me about invoices, true cost are true, I got a good deal. THat includes all ford rebates, incentives.
ok you built it on Ford direct now go to Edmunds.com and you'll see the average price paid now pick out your local dealers and from there you can access their on hand inventory and see if they have what you want then contact the internet manager for the dealership(thier job depends on making sells off the internet and hes more than willing to deal) have 10% ready for a down and get them bidding between each other online and then go for the jugler
