Question What is A plan and what is X plan?

I've always got great deals on my wheels, but I've never heard of these. How about a little help please?

THey are two programs subsidised by FoMoCo.

A-Plan = Ford employee price. Only direct Ford employees and their immediate family members are eligible. X-plan is the Friends and extended family program. Direct Ford employees can allow their extended family and neighbors (or anyone) a discounted price on may FordMoCo vehicles.

A-plan is typically 4-6% under dealer invoice that you can get from KBB or Edmunds. X-plan is near invoice, within 1% usually. No bargaining on price with either program. Almost all other incentives programs (cahs and low interest financing) still apply to both.

APT is right on with his descriptions of the plans. Only additional comment I'd make is that the Ford dealers near me are super hungry right now to move inventory. I just negotiated a deal on a brand new 2003 Expedition for a friend of mine, and got the selling price down to right at invoice, and that was before applying the rebate money and his trade allowance. I really think, given the current environment, that you can get deals equivalent to the PLANS if you know how to go about it.

Thanks, APT. I just saw someone mention a D-Plan. What is that?

I agree with BigDeal. On many Ford models, X-plan isn't that great, at least compared to what many people can get on their own at this time. Select vehicles and newer models like an 04 F-150 may be of more benefit as some dealers just won't budge and/or the customers negotiation skills are not that great.

D-Plan? I don't know. Z plan is the same as A-plan as far as prices go and it applies to retired Ford employees and their immediate family.

Isn't D-Plan for the 'dummies' that are willin' to accept $500 off of MSRP and think they got a good deal?

D Plan

APT, D Plan is same as A plan, but for dealer employees.

The nice part of all plans is that no negotiation is required. Prices are set by Ford.

Yes, right now we can all get good deals from hungry dealers, but I didn't have to ****er......just used my A Plan, plus the great rebates.
