Question 2004 price vs. 2003

Hey, how much will the 2003's come down when the 2004's hit the floor?

The price drop is already on. The DFW dealer have their lots FULL of '03s and they are anxious to get rid of them to make room. If you look closely, you may find slight hail dent in the roof and get an extra $1250 off like I did. I managed to get my SCab 4x4 for $9,000 below MSRP in Richardson.

Well, they have been dropping them for awhile now. It is pretty easy to get a 2003 for 15k. I'm looking at a 2001 super xlt for 17k. My concern is that after a month of the 04's being out, will the price of a 03 super xlt reach 17k? Does any one know the history of other models or makes that dropped after new designs were into'd?

As said, prices are already hitting the floor. $3500 in rebates right now for most poeple on supercabs. For 2WD, depending on options you can probably find an XLT supercab for 18k brand new. The 2004 will come with higher prices, $1000-2000 more and no or small rebates initially. So, the 2003's will already appear discounted. I wouldn't expect much more than $4000 in reabtes for a 2003 F-150. It is still the number 1 selling pickup and has a good market.

Check out www.carsdirect.com for some good prices.

Talking Done deal

Thanks for the input guys. I bought a 01 xlt with the upgraded towing package for 17. I have terrible credit so the payments are kind of high but I am pleased with the truck. It shows a private resale of 17k on kbb so I am satisfied. I had the option of going into a 03 xl but decided to go with the 01. Only 19k miles on it so it is virtually new anyhow and I won't be stuck with the year before the "change". Good or bad. I look forward to seeing if they hold their own and getting a new model in a few years. Maybe 07 after I get a BBA. Gotta reward myself somehow!

Congrats on the new (to you) truck! 19k miles is very young as these F-150's are solid. Treat it right and it'll return the favor. Make all the payments and you'll help your credit too!

rebates

i have heard that ford cant afford to go much lower than 3500 4000 more on 03 f150s. the current rebates are already hurting the bottom line. but they can go to 60 mo no interest. but more look to the dealers to give incentives like aftermarket options for free or discount.

i got the 3000 rebate 500 down payment match plus a-plan 500 match and a plan price so i came out pretty good. but just because i got mine i will be wrong and they will go lower.
