Yes politicans can have fun (SC for example, Bill Clinton, ect...) but in a FUN competition on a forum, it is a little desperate to make a thread advertising themselves... DeerJeff will probably win and thats fine... I am sure if I went on my diesel forums and made a posting advertising my truck I would win, or if texan aviator went and made a post on another F150 site he would win, same with all of the other contestants... Neither of us would do that because we know what is right and wrong even if the rules do not say anything about it...

Good for DeerJeff... he gets a little trophey in his signiture in trade for loosing a LOT of respect, and maybe even his man card

Start a thread showing off your truck fine, but doing it while your in the TOTM running, not so fine. Besides, there's already a link to each nominee's gallery on the 1st page.

 

I can tell none of us are getting nominated for next months TOTM....

 

when i was running for TOTM the thought of starting a thread to get votes didnt even cross my mind.. and look i still won!

 

might as well put a link in your sig and post it every time you make a post!

I don't see too much of a problem with it. If someone messaged me, asking to vote for their truck, I wouldn't do it just b/c they asked. Even if he has the same body style as my truck. I would vote for the one I liked the best. All his post did was get more exposure to the TOTM contest, and get more people to vote. If they voted for his truck, then I guess they liked it better. Isn't that the point of the contest? For people to vote for the truck they like the best.

They should just hide the number of votes each truck has until it is over, or until the last day. That way you get peoples real favorite. People want their vote to count, or make a difference. The way it is set up now, people are just going to vote for the 2 trucks with the most votes, to try and sway it to which one they like better out of the two. Just a thought.
