Cool Shortening throw on shifter

Does anyone out there know if there is a shifter out there that gives a shorter throw for quicker shifts (on a manual of course)?

I have contacted Hurst and B&M both with no avail. I also pulled my shifter to see if I could modify mine to work, it's not made like a typical shifter in a stang. It would be really hard to fabricate anything to work right, the pivot point of the shifter is actually inside the tranny. Hurst did say there had been several calls to them to produce a shifter for us but I haven't heard anything.

Makes me mad because they (Hurst) make one for the full size Shovies.

16x8 AR Baha's
Rancho 9000's
4000K Bulbs

Soon to come:
F250 Superduty Extended cab, 4x4, with the 7.3L turbo deisel, silver with grey interior. It will go directly to the shop and get a 4" suspension lift and 35's.

Wink

I guess they realized those shovies just need all the help they can get!
Does anyone know if the trannys in the 5.0 trucks (up to 96) is close to (or maybe the same)as what is in the new 4.6's? I know hurst has something to fit those, maybe it can be adapted? Just a thought...

Question

Silver Flareside, I was going to ask that question myself. I just got an e-mail from a guy at Mr. Gasket. He said he believed that the Ranger and F150 through '96 had a Mazda transmission. I don't know if anyone out there knows what the numbers are for the transmission in the '96 and earlier F150's. The number for the '97-'01 is M5R2-C, I believe. It would be nice if the older one was close. I think if enough people are interested in this type of shifter someone might be more likely to do the the R&D and produce one. One place to let them know you are interested is www.mrgasket.com.
