Unhappy 98 jerking into drive

I own a 1998 4x4 F150 and in need of some advice. With the brakes applied while shifting from reverse to drive and so on, the truck jerks and clunks. It almost seems like the truck want to go but the brakes stop it from moving. I had a 2000 F150 2x4 that did the same problem. Had many diagnostics done and they always come back normal. Need help, is it an internal problem or what?

My 2000 5.4 does the same. RPM's increase when shifting into reverse and drive with a cold engine. I have an appointment Tuesday.

Not sure how to reply , hope this works.
On tuesday, ask the dealership about an update kit for your tranny. The kit consists of a different diverter valve. I'm going to service my tranny on the weekend so I'll try it out.

Just wondering how you made out? I found out that there was not an update kit for my tranny but when I took off the pan the diverter valve was jammed in the filter. I was told by my mechanic to leave the diverter valve out cause over time the break down and lodge themselves somewhere the shouldn't be. Anyways it worked, I left the diverter valve out and my harsh shifting is gone.
