Thumbs down Transmission Failure

I have a 1998 F-150 XLT 4.6 litre 4x2 automatic. Mileage 61500 miles. The planetary gear system just blew completely apart on this trany. I don't tow with this and it doesn't carry loads. It goes in for regular service and has has the trany fluid/filter changed according to recommendations. I have contacted Ford customer service to find out if there are any recalls or known problems with these tranys. I have not heard back. Is there anyone out there who has experienced similar problems, if so were you able to get a resolve from your Ford dealer.

Man that sucks I hope mine holds up as I have a 4x2 and the 4.6 but mine is a y2k modle and I don't tow or haul much in the bed. But I do alot of fast take offs from lights and stop signs and hope that isn't to much punishment for the trans.
