Angry Hard upshift into 2nd on 95 automatic

Started 2 weeks ago. My F150, 5.0 automatic (4x2) started upshifting hard into 2nd gear. It kind of "clunks" in. Otherwise it runs perfectly and shifts perfectly in all other gears, including OD. It's got the AOD-E tranny so far as I can tell. I've read alot of the articles, but this seems like a new topic. Anyone else?

Fluid is full and looks to be the right color. Had the 60k service done just last year, including tranny fluid. Truck now has 75k miles on it, so it shouldn't need another change for another 15K miles. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

When's the last time you checked your transmission fluid? Does it need changing??

If it's really upshifting bad and you think there is a problem, you could try taking it to one of those transmission places. (Amico)don't know it that's spelled right?? I personally wouldn't suggest your ford dealer (I don't have any faith in their work) Let us know what happens, what ever you decide.

Mine does the same thing. I installed a superchip but had to remove it until the problem is corrected. It shifts hard into 2nd gear but the others are fine.

I had the transmission and torque converter flushed but it was no help. It's probably going to be a sensor of some type. I hear there's one at the end of the speedometer cable that controls the shift, but I haven't tried to replace it.

If you have your truck looked at, let us know what the problem was. Thanks

I had the exact same problem. The tranny shop found a broken spring on the 1-2 accumulator. I have about 5000 miles on it and it's doing fine.
