Post O/D Light Blinking / 452 Speed Sensor Problem

I have a 1994 F-150 with a 4R70W transmission. The light will occasionally blink on the end of the gearshift lever. Pulled the codes and got 452 Vehicle Speed Sensor Problem. Changed the Sensor in the Differential (controls the Speedometer & ABS) which is the sensor for this code and still getting the occasional blinking. In other messages I have seen, 50 things can cause the light to blink and most of the time it seems that people have had solenoid problems but my code doesn't seem to have anything to do with solenoids. Transmission seems to shift OK. Speedometer is a little erratic. Seems to be robbed of power when light comes on. Any ideas from technicians?

Unless you have a pre 97 truck, the VSS is not located on the diff - that is only the ABS sensor. The VSS is on the tailshaft of the transmission or transfer case.

On the 97-98, there is a bolt in VSS (like the old cable type) and on the 99 up trucks it is a hall effect sensor on the driveshaft.

My light would flicker but didn't affect anything else.

Still under warranty, Ford replaced the whole shifter and all has been fine.
