I called Bauman today, I wanted to order a shift kit, clutch control valve and a presure valve. They told me that they didnt have a shift kit for the 2001 4R70W transmission because ford changed the valve body design, They said they are working on a new shift kit and it will be out soon.

Would you try calling Baumann Engineering back and asking Greg if they have the kit for a '00 year model with the 4R70W trans?

I had emailed and called Greg on the 5th of March for a kit for my truck. He said they had one? I mailed a check and I still have not seen the kit yet!! I've emailed twice more and called him as of Friday a week ago, nothing! I've even asked where is the nearest distributor and no response from my email.

I'm getting real disappointed with this lack of response. Not very professional!

I will call Bauman and let you know what i find out. They should have a kit for your 2000 4R70W transmission. When i called to order a kit for my 2001 4R70W they said that ford had changed the valve body design and they had to come up with a new shift kit, and it should be out soon.

I have sent Greg two seperate E-mails asking for information on the 4R70W and have heard nothing. Sorry to hear that you sent a check and have heard nothing. Gee, was the check cashed yet??. Others have had supposedly good luck with Baumann Engineering, but soo far, I cant say as much. I kinda doubt that the whole company was on vacation!. LOL.....
My main question was if I need to do any shift kit or valve replacements in conjunction with a super chip to enhance the 4R70W. I also sent Mike Troyer a note that I know will be answered ( and a chip will be ordered). Good luck on your coorespondance expectations from Baumann... There is probably a good explanation, as it is certainly not a good practice as a norm.

I called Bauman today to check on your order, I gave them your name ( your real name ) and they said your shift kit should be shipped out on monday. I asked more questions about a kit for my 01, they said one person bought a 00 shift kit and put it in a 01 and it worked but they ( Bauman ) had not tried it yet. So i will wait until they do, i dont want or need any problems.

Thanks for the info. and call to Baumann. But, I'm not holding my breath!

When I called two Fridays (3/30) ago, Greg told me the same thing, he would process my order and send it out Monday. Let's see, that would have been on April 2nd and this coming Monday is April 16th.

Also, no to the question on had my check been cashed. I would be more PO if they had and not processed my order. My next communication will be with Baumann himself.

You know, I would of thought that being a Va/NC native and having a somewhat lengthy conversation with Greg initially, I would not have had this much opportunity in getting the kit?

Hey, if anyone else has purchased a Baumann Engineering trans kit, where can it be purchased from besides direct from Baumann Engineering. It doesn't appear that they are interested in direct sales or returning phone calls and email.

HI!... I don't know why you guys are having so many problems with GREG at BAUMANN ENGINEERING. I have called there several times when I was looking into my shift kit and got a quick responce every time. Even when I had problems installing my shift kit into my tranny, I called up GREG and he helped me right out. My customer service with GREG has been great up to this point. I'm sorry if some of you have been having problems with them. I kind of feel bad since I turned most of you on to them. I wish there was something I could do to help some of you out.

There just maybe a way for you to assist those (me) in purchasing Baumann's kit. Call Greg and mentioned that several F150 owner's are interested in purchasing their kit and that some are already trying to.

I wished I knew what the issue is? To have a reasonable conversation with Greg, for him to tell me they (Baumann Engineering) could sell me direct, quote a price, mail a check to his attention, and still not receive a kit. What the H___!

It's April 25th and still no communication or kit from Baumann Engineering to me. Good businees practice isn't it. They evidently are not customer oriented or at least for customers on the west coast like me!

Maybe I am lucky, but I have had no problems getting ahold of Greg at Baumann via phone. I have talked with him several times over the last several months (Christmas time was hard to get them though). I ordered a Sonnex bypass control valve with them and received it very soon after the order (they had it in stock). I did order their shift kit from Modern Mustangs however since Greg suggested it (Baumann had no shift kits in stock at the time). I think if they have it in stock, it gets to you quickly.

Further, I have a 2001 with a 4R70W and was able to install their shift kit. Greg did mention to me however that they are working on a revised kit for the later model 4R70W transmissions, but that their shift kit should work fine, which it did. Anyway, hope this helps.

I still want a shift kit for my truck, but don`t know if i want one from them after the way they treated you.
