Rebuilt Tranny?

Rebuilt Tranny?
Is there any way I can tell if my "new" R70 tranny is a rebuilt, versus new, unit? How about the paperwork at the dealer? Will that indicate?
Also -- for the rest of you who had trannies replaced -- did you get a free, or reduced price, ESP from Ford? (I'm pretty bummed to have lost my tranny at less than 5k miles. And more bummed that I don't trust the new one, either).

Lost my 4R70W tranny at 16500 mi. on my 99SC.
Last Jan. 01
Glad i was in town when it went bad.
Was prepared for the worse when i took it into Ford dealer (BTW-didnt buy from this dealer) NO_NO didnt go in pissed. I know where that gets you. HA Gotta be cool.
To make a long story short. Svc. tech. had it checked out, said they would rebuild-under warranty, didnt ask any questions, just said had to order parts, laid up 4 days. So far its ok. BUT?????? I didnt see them do it, tranny was broke down, said they reuse it, fixed bad parts, TC was ok. so???? Said there tech. rebuilds them there.
In my case, they did rebuild. Listed all the parts they replaced. All i got was the remaining time left on factory warranty.That expires 11/01, so i'll see how it goes this summer towing?
Im not sure if its something i did, i do tow a TT, but not overloaded etc. Wasnt towing at the time, went out about 3 months after my last towing trip. Go figure?
And my experience with Ford dealers, they are irratic. Some good, some bad.
