Question tranny oil change

I just changed the oil and filter on my 97 f150 transmission. 47K on it and when I removed the old filter I took it apart and looked inside . I found some small metal chips, i have had no trouble with the tranny other than some seepage around the pan which I am attributing to the gasket because there is no oil above the gasket or infront. I`m thinking I need not worry myself about rather small quantity of chips, as it could be something that was in there since the truck was first rolled off the assembly line. Does anyone have some thoughts on this?
