Question for V10 Man or anybody else that can help
Regarding the sonnax line pressure valve-what would be the easiest way to get the old valve out-the only problem I really see doing this mod would be getting the old valve out since there is nothing to grab a hold of- is there a special trick for getting it out?-I think I am going to attempt this on Friday-I'v gotten all the parts and I am really anxious to get it done-Any suggestions to make this easier would be greatly appreciated- Thanks for your time
It is in there kinda tight but it will come out. Removed the clip and just start working it back and forth with your finger. Once it is loose, push it in and let the spring pressure push it out. Hopefully there will be enough sticking out to grab ahold of. If this doesn't work, then carefully use a small screwdriver and give it a little push. You don't want to make any marks on the valve or the sleeve it's in.
When putting in the Sonnax, lube up the O ring with tranny fluid. You have to push the valve in kinda firmly to clear the O ring.
If you are also changing the tricululator springs you can use a valve body bolt to remove their valves. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Another question for V-10 Man!!!
What kind of time is involved in doing the complete sonnax valve job, beginning to end.
Also, did you have access to a rack, or did you do it laying on your back.

Having a Superduty, there's plenty of room under the truck. The longest part of the mod is letting the fluid drain. I'd say 1 1/2 - 2 hours start to finish. The actual time involved to remove the valvebody, install the valve and reinstall the valvebody is prolly 15 minutes. It is rather simple.
I do a lot of these mods, and honest to goodness, the best way to remove the line modulator boost sleeve is to remove the clip, and whack the corner of the valve body on my oak workbench, pops right out and doens't damage the body. I got the idea when I went down the the room where the accumulators are assembled and watched the repairman do several the same way.
Anyone who wants to swap out their body for a remanufactured one with the sonnax valve and tricumulator instaled and the body restored (I reccomend this for any over 20K miles) e-mail me, $100 exchange, I pay the shipping.

Thanks for the replies to my question-the mod went off without a hitch-The valve sleeve was no trouble at all-when the m-clip was removed and
I pushed on the sleeve it popped right out- Like all of you said the most time consuming part was letting the transmission drain- I was lucky though I did it at a friends oil change shop and he has a guy working for him that has done one of these mods so it worked out fine-the dreaded ***** didnt come falling out and the gasket stayed in place- The difference in shifting is unbelievable!!-I feel my old '94 has been resurrected
