Question Do you know what it is??

I changed out fluid/filter in my 99' F150XLT tonight and discovered an unusual treasure in the pan when I dropped it down.

It is a molded plastic piece that looks like a "bullet nose" and it has a black O-Ring around the bullet end of it. The back of the "bullet" has what appears to be a short "sucker stick" molded of the same material.

Anybody have a clue what the heck this thing is? I couldn't find a home for it so now I have a spare part. Everything seems to run/shift as well as it ever has.

Thanks

You can through it away. Used during assembly to hold dipstick tube in place.

Yeah, Don't worry about that....I had the
same thing in my tranny when we changed it.
The service manual mentioned it...

Appreciate the replies folks! I couldn't imagine what it could have been. Now I can rest easy. You always hear about the guys who end up with "spare parts" ! !
