2nd gear shift
My 2k f 150 has a 4.6 w/ auto tranny. Is there a kit to allow tranny not to take off in 2nd gear when left in 2 in error.Dealer says thats the way ford designed it.

HI!...RUS : NO, there is nothing you can do about that. FORD tranny's have had that built into them for years now. My 1969 C-4 tranny does that too. Some people have nick named it the "WINTER GEAR" because it allows you to start off in the snow or wet roads with out spinning the tires as much if your were in 1ST gear. I've even raced JMC's truck several times from a stop with my truck in 2ND gear and still beat him with no problems. I also have a BAUMANN ENGINEERING shift kit on STAGE 5 and it still starts off in 2ND gear if that's where the indicator is set at. It's a FORD tranny thing, you'll have to live with it.LOL!
