F150 Flywheels

OKay now here's the story..

I'm swaping in a M5R2 tranny into my cougar.. i got a E8TE (only numbers on it, `1988 Truck Engine') flywheel and surposely a 1993 `F150 M/T' starter.. but for some reason they do not work together..

In 1993 did the F150 change trannies from the M5R2, or Ring gear count?? I know the starter was `rebuilt' when i bought it, chould they have install the wrong `gear' inside of it.. since the Casting has the Number.. F3TU-11131-AA on the stator (cast Alum. part) which is a 1993 Truck `Special Vehicle Operations'

Comfused yet??

Any help would be GREAT.. it's like one of the last missing links to get it to work correctly..

Your asking for some pretty specific stuff here. I'm sure that someone here has an answer for you, it's just a matter of how long it takes them to see this thread.

Most of the peoplehere have '97 and newer F150's. Have you checked some of the other Ford truck sites?

I have no clue!

Good luck!
