Question Axle Ratio
My 97'F150 didn't come with an owners manual.How do I tell what ratio axle I have .Also does anyone know what the different towing capacities are for the different axles. My truck is a 4x4 xcab with the 5.4 engine.

Check the metal tag on the rear differential. A 355 is 3.55, a 308 is 3.08, etc. With a 3.55 rear, auto trans, with trans cooler, should be good for ~7500 lbs.
