Question Over drive selector?

I am proud to be a first time F-150 buyer after owning two Chevy's and a brand "X" Dodge Ram .

I am driving 5 hours through the mountains of West Virginia with a single axle trailer and 3 four wheel ATV's on board. Do I need to turn my OD off as I run 65 - 85 mph on the hi-way or can I leave it alone and let it decide where and when to shift? Please help, I love my F-150 and want to keep it in perfect shape! Thanks

Hey BL54FD,
If it were me I'd run it in OD till the trans started to "hunt" alot for the right gear. Otherwise shut OD off and take it easy on the speed.

My thoughts,

I would turn the OD off in the mountains and turn it back on once I got past the mountains if I was you.
