Post 4 weeks in dealer!!!!!!

I took my truck in for warranty transmission repair 4 weeks ago and haven't got it back yet! It's the 5-speed tranny. The dealer says they are having trouble getting parts. Hopefully it will be done today. Has anyone else had this "parts" problem? This sucks!

HI!... FARMALL : I had to wait 3 months for my head gaskets, when I blew one on my 5.4. Luckily, I was still able to drive my truck. Then I had to wait 9 months for a new driver's door because of the DREADED crack. Then too, I was still able to drive my truck. I hope you demanded a loaner car.

I did get a loaner from day 1, the only problem is that the loaner isn't a truck, it's a beat up, bare bones contour with a 4-banger. It's better than nothing though I guess. I do prefer the gas mileage of the contour over my truck too! I'm just a little frustrated that they can't figure out the problem. They heard the rattle noise the tranny makes while coasting along at over 35 mph with the clutch depressed and in either 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear. They have had the transfer case and tranny rebuilt and set to exact specs. They are basically just throwing parts at it, they couldn't find anything wrong. They had to wait for some bearings and a shim for weeks from Ford. There was no way I could keep the truck considering the trans and transfer case were out of it since the beginning of december! They told me today that they had all the parts and it should be all set to go tomorrow, thank god! My truck has been through h*ll over there, I forgot to mention that their lot plow driver scraped the paint and license plate off the front bumper of my truck at around the 2 week point!! I just hope it looks as good as it did when I took it in, if not, i'm going to be very, very mad!
