Question for Factory Tech
Question for Factory Tech
Factory Tech.....
I have a 4R100 tranny in 2001 HD F150, 5.4L with an ATI S/C & a Superchip flip chip with soft shift programmed. (16500 miles)
Six months ago I installed your factory tech valve body in the tranny and flush & filled with Amsoil tranny fluid. THe truck ran great and shifted between 1-2-3 strong-with no hesitation
Over the last few weeks, when accelerating hard, the tranny slips going from 1st to 2nd. The engin RPM's go way up, but there is no pull. I let off the gas and a few seconds later it shifts into 2nd. There is never been a problem shifting hard into 3rd.
It ramdonly happens and if I stop and start off fast again, it shifts hard into 2nd as normal. The fluid level is at max. when hot and looks clean.
It never happens when I start-off easy. Could something in the valve body be sticking to cause this problem. If not any suggestion that I might look at.
THanks for any help,
Buck150

I don't think it's the accumualtor, ussually when they stick they do it when and new and actually they will most of the time free themselves up. It could be the plates in the intermediate clutch are starting to go on you, do you have torque reduction removed from your program?
Just to be sure, shoot me an address and I'll replace the accumulator, since you got your's I've updated the design and the new ones are much less likely to stick, it may fix it, if it doens't we'll start looking at the more serious things.
