Transmission "lurching" during downshift
I recently purchased a 1998 5.4L 4x4 XLT and have noticed the transmission "lurches" when downshifting from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and so forth.
I've checked the tranny fluid and everything seems ok. Also read somewhere that Ford does not normally require tranny fluid changes for the E40D.
I've read many of the posted forums regarding transmission "clanks, revs, and whirs" but none seem to describe what I am experiencing. This is not an problem you can hear, really. It just seems like the transmission timing is off.
I would greatly appreciate any advice from the community.
