Question Torque Conveter Drain Plug Torque?

Anyone know what is the torque on Torque Conveter Drain Plug?

According to the factory service manual the torque is 18-20 lb/ft for the 4R100, and 21-22 lb/ft for the 4R70. I believe you have the 4R70 since you have the 4.6L engine.

You're welcome.

Pretty scary that the dealer did not know, or was too lazy to look it up for you. You would hope the dealers have the manuals available but you never know, that's why I bought my own set.

It's a tapered fit plug so just snug it up would work. If you use a 3/8" drive ratchet to tighten it up, just tight would prolly be 20 foot pounds.

You could:

a) tighten till it strips, then back out 1/4 turn, or

b) use the German method: Goodentight
