4r70w Blew With 4000 Miles On The Clock
Looks like I'm in the same sinking trans boat. My 02 screw only 3 weeks old has no go when I put it in drive. I can go if I manually start in first or second then shift to drive for 3rd and overdrive gears. After reading several post on different sights it seems Ford is doing what a lot of companies are doing now, testing new cheaper components in the field(hence the green sticker).
I have the Trans cooler also so overheating should not be the issue.
I have it in the dealer today will let you know what they say.

My AOD was slipping on upshift between 2 and 3rd and I had the dealer rebuild it under warranty. The truck had 20k on it.
No problems since then. I plan on getting the tranny serviced with fluid filter changes often.

Well its been 1 yr and 7000 miles since I had the transmission replaced in my truck and now the new one is starting to slip really bad when going into 2nd gear. Making an appointment with the dealer to get in and see what the problem is now. Well this one almost made it twice as far as the last one. Maybe the next one will go 14000 miles before it dies.
I had my 4R70W rebuilt at 75,000. It didn't actually fail, but it was shifting EXTREMELY hard between 1st and 2nd. This was a bad hard shift too, not like a nice firm shift if that makes any sense to anyone. Took it in to have a look at and was told it needed a rebuild. $1800 later I have an excellent trans though and I had a trans go shift kit installed and now its great. Just hope it stays that way. The 4r70w does suck though, hell it was originally used in the mustang. Ford should have used the 4R100 in v8 applications. (especially the 7700#ers like mine)

Since mine is still under warranty I'm going to have to let the dealer repair or replace it. Last time they replaced it with a brand new one, but it took a couple of weeks to get the new one from the factory. Even though everyone says these transmissions are junk I think even a crappy transmission should at least be able to go a couple of years before needing replacement. My buddies at work told me to dog the next transmission so that I can file a lemon law claim and get a new truck. Problem is I don't want a new truck since this one only has 11000 miles on it.
