Problem with clutch squeaking
Has anyone with the 5 speed manual trans have any problems with the clutch squeaking when the clutch is depressed? I understand that this is a small and trivial problem, but it's slowly driving me crazy! If you have encountered this problem what did you do to fix it? Lubrication? I'm Considering taking it to the dealer to fix under the warranty. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks in adavance.

I too have experienced the squeaking clutch pedal. Sounds like the return spring squeaking as I engage the clutch (release the pedal). Since mine is a spring problem I can't really lubricate it. I had a similar problem on a 94 ranger and it was the roller bushing at the top of the pedal, unfortunately a nylon bushing so no way to lube that either.
My solution, turn up the radio!

I haven't looked under the dash to try and find the problem yet, but I think I'll just take it in and let them deal with it at my next service appt.
