Question Tranny temp gauge installation

Need help from any of you guys who have a tranny temp gauge installed. I have a F150 4X4 extended cab with the off road package. The engine is a 5.4L with the 4R70W transmission. My question is does the fluid go to the radiator or the tranny cooler first.

We talked about this a while back.

I am not sure I am understanding your question but...My 97 factory shop manual says the OEM setup goes to the auxilliary and then to the radiator cooler before returning to the tranny. Others have disputed the logic of this. I do know that the consensus of opinion is if you put an aftermarket one on to go to the auxilliary one last and then back to the tranny. Note: that is if you keep the OEM radiator one inline at all. Advantages to doing so are extra cooling by the combined units. Other side of argument is you will definately need to put the biggest one you can fit in if you do bypass the OEM(which most do anyway) but you will never have to worry about coolant getting into the tranny oil or visa versa. Bottom line on this decison is how old is the OEM radiator one and can you trust it and have you been taking care of it like you should.

Yes do check that old thread cause there was good stuff on the temp sensor there.
