Post Is $1,200 a Good Price for a New Clutch??

Got a quote from a local shop that said $1,200 would be the cost to replace my 95, 4.9 with a 5-speed tranny that still works. Is this about average??

Cool

Are you saying replacing the clutch will cost $1200 ????
That sounds like about $800 too high.
Go to another shop.

Never had it done, but I called a few places just to get an idea. They all said $500 to $600. I think you should go somewhere else. And I don't think it should be replaced until it's needed.

Jeez, we had a 91 3/4 w/351 and replaced the 11"er for 400 bucks. Sounds like a heck of deal now

1,200 for a clutch sounds a little high is it gold plated or something I would go to another shop before I would pay that much.

Talking

If it still works why are you changing it?
FYI on my 92 Nissan I had 106,000 miles on the original clutch.
The original was still in it when I sold the truck.

Depends on whether your "buying" or "selling"
