Bill. Changed mine for the second time. Now I have amsoil from front to back. I agree you can notice the difference.

They will be replacing my syncros as soon as I get my Amsoil in. Ford agreed to put in the Amsoil after they tear down the tranny. I am excited. If it does anything like the power steering fluid. That will be super!! Also getting an analysis when they do the change, to see what kinda condition the old stuff was in. I will let everyone know when I get that back

Henry,
What engine oil you using? I put in the Series2000 0w30 that stuff is great!!

FYI - the Mazda 5 speed in the Ranger is supposed to use ATF. The lighter fluid apparently gets to places the heavier gear oil has a hard time reaching.

mike150,

You can just order online or call the 1800 number and they drop ship it right to your house! what could be easier??

check out my website for more information. Also you can look in your phone book under oil/lubrication. If there are any dealers in your area they will probably be listed there.

Remember they will still pass the shipping on to you, so why not just call and have it UPS'd, It will take 2-3 days.

Thumbs up Synthetic ATF in Manual Trans

Changed the fluid in my 5spd to Amsoil synthetic ATF and the results are positive. The main difference I notice is that the shifts are more positive. The synthetic feels like a thinner, lighter weight oil. I left the truck out overnight when the temp dropped down to about 12 deg. Normally the gearshift would have been balky, like there was vaseline in the gearcase, but it was better, still a little stiff but definately better.

msparks. I used the 0w-30 in my ranger and was very pleased. Bet I got an extra two miles to the gallon. Presently using 5w-30 in winter and 10w-30 in the summer. I used series 2000 75-90 in my front diff. The stuff was cold and still flowed nice.

mike150. Sorry but I live a bit farther north....Connecticut to be exact.

I will have Ford check out my 5sp Monday morning. Having problems with second gear. I changed my fluid to Mobil synthetic ATF at 30K and it did make a differance. Lot better shifting at -15 below zero in the morning here in Minnesota. When my stash of Mobil 5w-30 runs out I will be on the AMSOIL wagon too. I just love the Amsoil synthetic snowmobile oil.
