Thumbs down extremely hard downshifts

I've got a '99 f150 with 15k miles. When i step on the accelerator and she drops into passing gear i swear i'm going to leave something behind! It downshifts HARD! Of course the dealer finds nothing wrong. Anyone else experiencing this?

There is a pretty big rpm change between OD and 2nd gear, and also from 1st to second. Mine would downshift hard sometimes, but smoothness seemed to vary depending on the circumstance and the whim of the tra.

I think the best thing you can do for the auto shifting on these trucks is add a Superchip. Ford has some unusual ideas about programming the shifting - the upshifts are real slow and sloppy, and the downshifts can be rough.

You still might want to have a dealer look at it if it really seems unusual.
