What did it set you back? How much clearance under the truck did you lose? Does it take the stock filter?

Cool B&M extra capacity tranny pan installed

Guys and gals, just installed a B&M cast aluminum transmission oil pan in this weekend. Was messy but no more of that for a while since oil pan now has a DRAIN PLUG! It said 3 extra quarts, but I ended up putting in 4 quarts? Feels no difference but felt good that the tranny now is has more fluids to circulate than before. steve
p.s. Don't forget, Ford dealers sell the tranny filter 25.00 cheaper than NAPA!

The pan alone is 165.00 and yes it took the stock filter and I don't see much clearance lost, I measured about 3 inches and doesn't show much and looks pretty cool with the cooling fins. Everyone ought to get one of these. Main thing is the drain plug. steve

Thanks Steve,

Since I didn't get the towing package it is now on my short list of things to do. Where is a good place to find one? Is there one with a place for a tranny fluid temp gauge as well?

cphilip, I got it from my local speed shop and it available at yours also. Oh yes, there are plenty of space for the temp sensor. But I'm planning to use the Autometer temp manifold so I don't have to drill at all. For some reason after drillings hole in the pan always leaks no matter how tight it is. The only solution is a welded nut on the other side of the pan. That is why I rather spend the extra bucks to get the pan. steve

Good advice no doubt. Has to be better cooling anyway. Thanks again.
