Post What brand of sythetics do yall prefer for transmissions and motors.

I am due a transmission fluid change what do yall recommend. I just changed to castrol syntec but I believe something better is out there. I have also read that you need to flush your motor before putting synthetic in. Needless to say I read this after I changed it. Is there any possible damage? Thanks

how much does it run for the fluids? I have noticed in many signatures and in yours that you have FORD locking lug nuts. What exactly are these? I have had the lug nuts replaced because of the recall.

HI!... FORD-TOUGH1 the REDLINE rearend oil cost me about $62.00(can) for 4 liters. Locking lug nuts consist of 4 lug nuts that are totally round and have a specific keyway cut down into them. The only way you can remove these lug nuts is if you have the special key that comes with them. I paid $70.00(can).

FORD-TOUGH1 Back on the oil thing. Don't worry about not flushing thing. Conventional oils are mixable with synthetics. In fact you can buy quakerstate synthetic blends that are only %10 synthetic. They are a waste of money. you can mix it yourself for half the price. I run Mobile 1 5w-30 synthetic with a vortech supercharger on a 4.6L and it hasn't blown up yet (60,000 miles) You should flush your tranny and eng once in a while as good maint. It just removes more oil.

Do you have to have special equipment to flush the torque converter?
