a few comments please...

After reading this forum... I'm wondering if I'm way out of line...

I just bought a '95 f-150 with 42,000 miles..

In the past 10 months I've put 27,000 miles on it and probably a quarter of that was towing close to a 5,500 lb trailer. no tranny cooler, no towing package. But I did install a class III/IV reciever style hitch and 7 pin harness. I change my oil every 5-6k miles. I use valvoline 10w-30 dino oil. The tranny has never been serviced.

Now... what do you guys think I need? I'm the kind of person who tends to just ride what I got until it blows up... but maybe a little preventative maintenance is in order.

Thanks,
Sal

change your transmission oil. Towing really heats up the transmission oil and heat is the enemy when it comes to a transmission.

Sorry, I don't have any advice. I just wanted to say when I read that I got an image of Slim Pickens, waving his hat as he rode out of that bomber in the movie, "Doctor StrangeLove".

Thanks for the laugh.

A trans cooler, remote filter, and keep the fluid changed regularly. Yep, that's what I would do.
