Which shift kit should I choose?

I am currently interested in buying a shift kit for my truck, and was wondering which of these two I should go with: Baumann or TransGo? Right now I am a little more interested in the Baumann because it has more than just three settings to choose from. Which one do you guys think would actually be the better choice? I plan on buying one or the other within the next few days, so any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Neither

I would go with B&M, and I did.

Good luck with it, Toby

i had the baumann kit. it was a nice kit and shifted well, but about a week later i had serious tranny problems. i believe the problems were unrelated to the kit. anyway, i got a new tranny from ford under warranty. i ordered a replacement valvebody and teep aluminum transmission pan from performance automatic to put into my new tranny. the valvebody they make is like the one factory tech makes, but it is for the 4r70w. i should have it today or early next week. i will let you all know how it works. thier website is www.performanceautomatic.com you may also want to try www.lentechautomatics.com they make good stuff for the 4r70w too but it is a bit more expensive. if you want more info on these companies check out www.corral.net there is alot of stang owners who use these parts.

Baumann

I installed the baumann kit a year ago.
I have not had any problems AT ALL!!!
I love the way it shifts but I don't recommend stage 5.
Unless you wear a neck brace at all times... : )

Transgo, definitely. I've put in over 20 of these and never had a problem with one.

Thanks for those links 2000F-150HD , I'll check them out tonight. Joe T what setting do you have your Baumann on? I wasn't considering putting it on stage 5, but does anyone know how the stage 3 setting on the Transgo is? I actually would like to have a little 1st to 2nd tire chirp and am curious which setting on the Transgo or Baumann would give me that chirp without having to put it on the max setting. My truck already kicks pretty hard into 2nd because of the Chip, but I still feel that the tranny needs to shift a little firmer. I should have shown my sig. earlier but I forgot, so here it is. By the way, I also plan on getting Sonnax vavles along with the shift kit.

Stage 2 with the TransGo kit will give you that 1st to 2nd chirp. With a Superchip that isn't calibrated to compensate for the shift kit, stage 2 will rock you.

stage 4b on the baumann gave me a lil chirp on the 1-2. but i have no chip. so i still have all the torque management and the low line pressure. but, i do have a supercharger as well. i think you would be happy at a level 4 on the baumann. i will let you know how the PA valvebody shifts when i get it in.

Steve,

Could you be sure to take some good pictures and study the valve body thoroughly before installing it??? I'm curious to know exactly how it's put together.
