on a 97 4.6 w/auto...which line to the radiator,from the transmisson, is the return and which is the supply...i,m going to put on a new cooler and actually need to know which is the return so that i can put the cooler on downstream from the radiator for maximum effect

This is a double post, pretty much. The question has been answered.

The lower line, exiting the radiator goes back to the transmission. Any question about the validity of this can be answered by feeling the lines. The top line is much warmer than the lower.

 

and i,d bet that line would be ...what....250 ..270?...i,ll take your word for it and try the bottom line ..thanks
