Whats going one, Help!!!!
I have a 2000 4.2, 5spd. I heard that the Royal Purple syn tranny fluid helped smooth out shifts. I changed it today and noticed a little dribble from the rear tranny seal where driveshaft connects with trans. I didnt pay it much mind, I figured I overfilled a little. Later today I notice that the whole underneath of my truck has been coated with tranny fluid. The truck only has 33k on it. There hasnt been any accumulation under truck when left parked. Could this have been from just putting to much fluid in. I though I put in the 3.75qts like the book says.
I posted this same reply in your V-6 thread,

Tools needed:
Tranny fluid/oil pump (autozone, oriely, napa, pepboys)
440 channel locks
oil catch pan
4 qrts of new mercon rated ATF
1. remove fill plug
2. put something under tranny to catch old fluid
3. remove drain plug
4. let oil drain out completely
5. screw in drain plug and tighten real good
6. use Tranny Fluid Pump from oriely or autozone
7. pump new fluid into fill
8. you want fluid to be full to the fill hole, it will leak out letting you know it's full
9. tighten fill plug.
Done!
Total time: 15 Minutes

You can see by his instructions there is no way you could have overfilled it since it would have just leaked out the fill hole.
