adding fluid in 5 speed

Angry adding fluid in 5 speed

what do i need to add fluid in my 5 speed tranny??? i know im supposed to use Mercon ATF, but how the heck do i get it in there? is there a special funnel that goes in the fill hole? thanks

I just did mine the other day. My first time on a manual. It's not like the autos.
You will need to lay under the truck (unless you are fortunate enough to have a lift) on the drivers side so you can see the transmission. There are two large bolts (caps)(not sure what size). The lower one twards the rear of the transmission should say "drain" next to it, and obviously the upper one says "fill" next to it. I believe you would have an easier time just replacing all the fluid. You will need four quarts, and should have about a quarter of one left (the owners manual says 3.75qt.). You can pick up a cheap hand pump where you get your fluid.
See what I mean, it's not like the autos!
