flashing overdrive light

I was driving my 98 F-150 5.4 litre down the interstate today cruising between 70-80 for about 15 miles. When I got off at my exit my truck would shift hard going upp and down and my overdrive light was flashing on and off. I made it home and I was getting ready to take it to a friends transmission shop and it is driving fine. I checked the fluid level and it is fine. Any suggestions???

Take to the dealer. The transmission has eleven sensors on it that tell it when to do what. When a sensor goes bad the OD light blinks. Depending which sensor acts up is what funky thing the transmission will start doing. (Mine would not shift out of First)

If the light is not blinking at the dealer and they cannot determine the problem, tell them you want a Flight Recorder to trap the code.

(If you are out of warranty, you are looking at $80 - $140)
