Question 4R70W Valve body upgrade

I wanted to find a similar product to the Factory Tech valve body for my 01 Screw.

The one that I seem to have landed on is the LENTECH Street Terminator Valve Body.

I am not looking for a neck breaking shift, I just want to shorten the shift of the stocker to try to save the clutches when I am towing ( I don't tow in OD before you say something ).

I just wanted to get a feed back on this from someone.

Thanks

I've done a lot of research on this one Trying to figure out what it takes to make a 4R70W reasonably bullet proof.

Some sort of a mechanical valve body modifcation, to shorten the shift, is absolutely necessary. This will minimze wear and control heat.

The stock pressure regulator valve in not built to last either and should be replaced. Sonnax makes a replacement that costs around $25.00. Sonnax also makes a bypass clutch control valve that most would recommend and this is only around $15.00.

A transmission cooler and temperature gauge are also a must, even if you never tow.

As for the valve body replacement, I've only found 2. There is LENTECH, which I am leaning towards. There is also Performance Automatic. PA gets high praise from Mustang owners as well. PA AOD-E Transbrake Valve Body.

There are quite a few shift kits available but a complete valve body replacement seems more robust and so much less time consuming. Although I haven't spoken with LENTECH or PA, I am assuming that they already replaced the inferior valves so the Sonnax valves would not be needed.

I would encourage you to contact LENTECH and see what they have to say. I'm sure they'd be happy to explain how there valve body works, and exactly what it will do for you.
