Question Most miles with TRANSGO?

I was wondering who has the most miles on their truck with TRANSGO installed.

1) How many miles did you have when you installed it?

2) How many miles now?

3) Any problems?

4) Engine and transmission (Ex: 5.4/ 4R70W)?

Thanks...heavily considering this mod.

Got about 5000 miles with mine
Had about 34000 when I installed
No problems at all (except I keep getting a little "spank" in the butt when shifting )
5.4 with the 4R100

I was just thinking about posting something like this yesterday. I just wanted to know how many miles everyone had before a Transgo or other shift kit install.
I have a 4R70W wit habout 136K and wondered about installing a shift kit on a high mileage tranny.

KYFordFreak-

You can put the shift kit in at any mileage. It won't shorten the life of it, if anything, it will lengthen it. It's not a large investment, but this will depend on your overall transmission condition. Good Luck !!

I installed a TransGo at 19,950 miles.
Now have 48,790 miles; so 28,840 and still going.
I have the 4.6 with 4R70W.

I installed the transgo at 34,000 miles, and I'm at about 68,000 miles now. So, that's, umm, 34,000 miles. I have a98 4.6 with the 4r70W tranny in it. The transgo kit is set on the middle setting. (Highest for use with the stock converter.)

Thanks that's good news. When I drop the pan in about 5-6K I might just go ahead and put one in. That's considering I do not have to rebuild the tranny before then. At 40 mph, 1100-1400 RPM (in OD) under light accel I get a lunge/surge/jolt feeling (pretty hard) and then again at 70-75 mph and around 2000 RPM it can be felt again. It seems to happen right before the shift point and if you put your foot on down a little, it will go ahead and downshift. It must be mechanical type failure as no CEL or OD OFF lights flash at any time. I'm thinking it is the TC acting up or I have a gummed up or bad shift solenoid or actuator. I know a tranny flush w/ shudder fix additive hasn't solved it yet, only been about 150-200 miles. Any help is appreaciated(sp).
