Question gears for a 4.6 auto?

I have only a few things in mind to speed up my truck. One of them is to change out the gears and comp chip. Anybody have any suggestions for a good replacement? I want more tourque but I want some excelleration. I dont care if i lose some top speed but i have to get my 0-60 a bit quicker. My 99 truck has a 4.6 v8 with an automatic tranny. Any suggestions for the chip to calibrate? thanks in advance for any help

Gears and Chip will totally change the way your truck drives. I have a superchip and I have 3:73 gears. I wish I would have gone to the 4:10 gear but still it runs great. I am using a gear from Geniune Gear (sorry for the spelling) it does have a slight wine to it but I was told it was normal when going to a differnet brand gear other than orginal. If you are not worried about top end speed get the 4:10.

Question

How much did it all cost you? how quick was the install? How much top speed would i lose with a 4:10? Where did you have your shift points programmed for the chip? sorry for all the questions but I would like to do all this decently soon. After i finish the outside work over this next month. thanks again

The chip I got for around 225 and its the same code that most every one here is running. The gears I paid 175 but I had the install done by a place in Dallas and they charged me 320 for labor.

The chip install is easy took me about 45min in the dark with only a flash light. I just was not sure about the gear swap since I have never done it before so I opted to have it done right instead of screwing something up.

With 3:73 gear it does not come off the line like I thought it would but instead it really gets going around 30mph
