Question 4R70W transmission pans?

Has anyone found an aftermarket pan for the 4R70W besides the B&M one? Mag-Hytec has one coming out in the fall, but I was curious if any others were available now?

p_ferlow-

Thanks. I did a search and found many posts that referenced a larger pan with a drain plug on the 4R100 4X4 vs the 2X4. I found nothing like this for the 4R70W. Does anyone with a 4R70W have a drain plug?????????

I heard somewhere that places like Autozone sell universal drain plug kits, some even with a magnet in the drain nut. I think you have to drill the pan and insert it kind of like a hull fitting on a boat. Doesn't matter if they say it's for your engine oil pan or w.h.y., can use it for either.

Found these:

4R70W aluminum tranny pan, $170

Here's an awesome parts blowup and parts list:

Art Carr Finned Aluminum AOD/4R70W Deep Pan
Art Carr cast aluminum oil pans increase the oil capacity of all late model transmissions and provide added cooling as well as increased case strength. The rigid boxed aluminum section of the pan increases rigidity in the transmission case for smoother and more reliable operation in racing and heavy duty use. All Art Carr deep pans increase oil capacity by approximately two quarts over stock. The Art Carr Deep Pan installs easily with no modification to the dipstick and comes complete with drain plug and filter extension. $ 180

Thumbs up p-ferlow-

Thanks alot !! The first link is the B&M pan; I'm familiar with that. The second link=AWESOME; BEST I'VE SEEN ONLINE. The third link=That's a new one that I haven't seen. I had searched www.artcarr.com but their website sucks. I have the B&M drain plug in now, it works fine. I've used these since the 1970s with good results if welded or J&B welded on the inside of the pan. The outer plastic washer also gets distorted if you don't put a thin washer opposite the pan side.

No problem.

When in doubt use www.google.ca for your internet searches.
