In Need of a Tranny Cooler??

I just installed a draw-tight hitch (My first mod!!!), question is what are the conditions that require a tranny cooler? Oddly enough, even though I have an ORP 4x4 it didn't have the tow package. (I bought it used, some little ol lady must've owned it before me. )
Also, how hard is it to install one and where is a common place to install it on the truck.

thanks for the help, I tried to search but with "search" being down it makes it kinda hard.

Cool

HI!... I installed a "HPP" tranny cooler and 10 inch electric fan on my truck. I also installed an external tranny filter as well. Here's a pic of just the cooler :

Not difficult. I couldn't find fittings so I cut the line and double clamped the hoses. About 1 ounce leaked out when I cut the lines. So have a small pan ready. Got my cooler from the link below. Nice stacked plate job, about 18,000gvw.

Mounted it driver's side about 2 inches in front of AC condensor and bottom edge on a line about 2" below where the grill bottom starts. Mounted with metal strips bolted 3 places to the metal framing that is between the condensor and the grill.

Good Luck!

Remember to get the hoses tight.
